Why Robotic and Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic Surgery?

Robotic and minimally invasive surgery consists of methods that reduce the impact on the body compared to traditional/older methods, which usually involve larger incisions. These older methods can put patients at higher risk of wound infections, stiff/painful scars, incisional hernias, intestinal adhesions, and more painful and prolonged recovery.

Practice Goals

My goal is to guide patients to the optimal decision regarding their surgical needs. Choices may be affected by the severity or urgency of the problem or other underlying medical issues. I will strive to choose the least life-impacting method while not compromising a successful outcome. The goal is to get every patient back to optimal health.

What patients are saying

He is definitely a wonderful surgeon who takes pride in his skills and patients’ care. The office [staff] works perfectly to streamline your visit and keep you informed, [I was] always greeted with a smile.

Dr. Nichol first went over my options for my two hernias. He was very informative and laid out all my options. Letting me know it wasn’t urgent and if I wanted to I could postpone the surgery for a few months. The procedure was flawless and the recovery process has been great so far.
