Scope of Practice

Dr. Nichol is a Board Certified general surgeon who provides a wide range of surgical procedures. While recognizing the benefit of minimally invasive methods, Dr. Nichol also acknowledges that some patients may benefit or have an optimal outcome with traditional surgery.

Below are a list of surgical procedures that he performs:

Head and neck:

• parathyroid, thyroid, lymph node biopsies

Chest:

• lung biopsies, lung resections for cancer, bleb resections

Abdomen:

• hiatal hernia and reflux surgeries, gastric (stomach)

• gallbladder

• small and large intestine, appendix

• abdominal, incisional, umbilical, and inguinal hernias

• hemorrhoid and anorectal disorders

Soft tissue:

• skin lesion removal

• melanoma and skin cancer resections

• lymph node biopsies

• soft tissue tumors

Breast:

• evaluation and diagnostic biopsy

• multidiciplinary breast cancer care including lumpectomy with or without oncoplastic reconstruction

• mastectomy with or without reconstruction with plastic surgeon.
